At Queen Elizabeth, we have two fitness breaks each day and students go outside for both of them. Should it be lightly raining during recess break, we will be outside. Students are advised to dress for the weather. A rain jacket and/or an umbrella and splash pants are helpful to enjoy the outdoors when it is wet.
We will aim to be outside as much as possible. However, if there is a chance of lightning or if it is raining heavily, we will remain indoors for recess.
During the winter months, we can have some very cold days and we encourage all families to send appropriate outdoor play clothing (e.g., boots, snow pants, hats, mitts, warm jackets) that are labelled with your child's name. If you are in need of any warm clothing for your children, please do not hesitate to reach out to the school.
Our goal is to enjoy the outdoors and get fresh air whenever we can.
